MASS.Made has developed 30 furniture collections for education, workplace, hospitality, residential, and public spaces.
To create products that are grounded in place, environmentally responsible, and safely and equitably produced. We look at the design and fabrication process holistically—from material selection to processing and assembly.
Our aim is to highlight and scale local innovation and ideas, hire local labor, and invest in skilled job training; while minimizing the reliance on imported materials and products. Importantly, investing in local makers and entrepreneurs not only builds regional capacity for furniture production, but also provides our partners with higher quality products for a lower price.
We offer a full spectrum of integrated project services, including space planning, interior design, and furniture fabrication.
MASS brings a track record of designing exemplary furniture and interiors for impact-driven partners. We have designed and implemented over 13 commercial, educational, and workspace projects in four countries—ranging from larger purpose-built construction projects, such as the Rwanda Institute for Conservation Agriculture campus in Bugesera, to smaller scale fit-outs, such as the African Leadership University in Kigali. By partnering with best-in-class clients, including universities, research centers, non-profits, and social enterprises, we seek to amplify impact by providing spaces where these organizations can do as much good as possible.
We believe that spaces should be designed around a collective understanding of people and the environments they need to thrive; as well as our partners’ values and vision for growth. Whether a new building or a small interior fit-out, we strive to create spaces that foster connections, instill pride, and provide a sense of purpose.
